Last Sunday our registered architect and co-founder, Ivan Samaniego, had the opportunity to participate in the Podcast of Cadena Ser, Código de Barras. This podcast deals with current issues and in this case touched to talk about the importance of taking out home insurance in case of an accident in our home or community.
In search of hidden problems
In this context, Ivan from Revicasa, commented on some common problems present, others not so common and of critical importance for the structure and habitability of a house.
"Two out of every three homes we inspect have a serious or very serious problem".
In this regard, he was asked about these serious or very serious problems.
"From a structural problem that the dwelling has some still active cracks,(... ) which makes the safety of the users compromised to humidity behind non-visible furniture or poor execution of the underfloor heating."

Don't think twice, inspect your home
Defects in communities that have not been reviewed for years (IEE or ITE).
Regarding this point, Ivan talked about the most common problems in this type of buildings such as problems in the eaves, elements that fall into the streets or waterproofing problems.
Most extreme case in a home inspection.
Ivan comments on an extreme case in which he found a single-family house with a first floor slab with a cellar basement whose wall was "practically blowing away", this wall could have given way within weeks or months if it had not been inspected, which would have been catastrophic for the users of this house.
"As soon as the damage is structural, you have to make them or sometimes take the decision to demolish the whole house."
We recommend that you listen to the podcast , Can you live without home insurance? where you can learn more about the importance of home insurance and how to prevent risks with a home inspection.
Request information about home inspection
Get in the hands of a home inspector and get to know the condition of your home in depth.
From Revicasa we always recommend a home inspection to know the real state of your home. This information can be vital to make a purchase decision or avoid possible unforeseen events. And remember that in case you see a possible defect or defective element, it is always advisable to have an expert to know the origin and the solution to the problem.
